Three keys, a quote and an invitation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One<\/b><\/h2>\n

One of the tools I recommend people use to hone their intuition is so-called ‘attention journaling’. Our attention is a scarce resource, which is under a lot of strain in today’s noisy world. Our attention is also the key to honing our intuition and an important part of that is paying attention with your whole body and senses. In this newsletter, we’re focusing on paying attention to ‘glimmers’ and the transformative effect they can have on our nervous system, well-being and thinking.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two<\/b><\/h2>\n

“Triggers” are widely understood and are painful memories of difficult past events or traumas and can cause anxiety or even depression. Few people know about their opposite: glimmers.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to<\/span> Deb Dana<\/span><\/a>, who specializes in complex trauma, glimmers aren’t grand experiences. On the contrary, she says, “They’re micro moments that begin to shape our system in very gentle ways.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Three<\/b><\/h2>\n

Glimmers are small moments that spark joy or peace, which can help cue our nervous system to feel safe or calm. These are micro moments that begin to shape our system in very gentle ways and can have positive impact on our mental health.<\/span><\/p>\n

Glimmers can be found in different places and senses. Such as:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • In nature, admiring your garden, a plant or a flower inside your home or seeing the stars in the sky.<\/span>\n

    \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • Noticing a stranger’s smile or the warmth of a loved one’s voice.<\/span>\n

    \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • Feeling comforted by beauty, kindness or a piece of music.<\/span>\n

    \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • Unexpected moments or cues that bring you joy and happiness.<\/span>\n

    \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The concept of glimmers is that recognizing small, positive moments over and over can begin to shape our system and rewire our minds. A little joy and relaxation can reduce your emotional distress, balance your nervous system and brain, and elevate your logic and intuition.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Wisdom is asking the right questions. Clarity comes with presence and heightened awareness about\u00a0how<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0to what<\/em>\u00a0we pay attention to.<\/p>\n\n\n

    My invitation this week is for you to:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Set your intention on paying attention to glimmers and write them in your journal. Allow the world to come to you in beautiful and unexpected ways.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You can for example decide to find a glimmer before lunch, in the afternoon, while you go from one place to another, at work, in the park, at dinner or while you grocery shop. Do this for a week and also journal about how this affects you.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    When you begin to see a glimmer, you begin to look for more. “That’s your nervous system beginning to shape toward the patterns of connection that are inherently waiting in there to be deepened and brought alive,” says Deb Dana.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Give yourself permission to experience and enjoy glimmers. Let them work with you.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n
