While intuition is sometimes dismissed as an irrational and fluffy feeling, today’s rapidly changing world of big data, political turmoil and technological revolution increasingly demands that we combine intuition with data and analysis.

But how well do we know intuition? Intuition is the basis of the decisions we make, mostly without us realizing it. While we can learn rational thinking skills and analysis relatively quickly, intuition is an entirely different beast. Intuition takes a long time to develop, is more elusive and therefore more challenging to teach and learn.

In this breakfast panel, Yale Greenberg World Fellows Hrund Gunnsteinsdottir and Wang Shuo navigate the world of intuition, how it interacts with rational thinking and analysis, how it can help us open up the infinite possibilities of human beings, what we will do with it in the age of algorithms, robots and artificial intelligence and explore when we most need it.
